“Cherry is energetic, thoughtful, and perceptive. When I discuss issues with her, I learn new ways to think about them and new strategies to consider.” – David Ellowitch, CLTC, Ellowitch3, LLC

Over two decades ago, after winning consulting contracts with two Fortune 500 companies I decided to leave a full time position and start my own business. Within a month of quitting my job, both companies had leadership changes and all consulting contracts were put "on-hold." As the breadwinner for my family, it was a scary time. Many people thought I should return to the corporate world and job security. (That idea’s been turned on its head in the intervening years, hasn’t it?)

But even then was the belief system that equated a corporate job with security accurate? Even if it was, did that take priority over my belief system that spending more time with my young children trumps more money? I don't believe there's one right answer, it's just something to think about. Identifying and questioning our belief systems and assumptions is the heart of my work. It sets the stage for change, provocative dialogue, and innovation.

I chose to stay on my own and now more than 20 years later I still have a successful business as a speaker, facilitator, process consultant and writer. My beliefs include:
  • There's value in challenging my clients and myself to be Borderless Thinkers.

  • There's power in story telling and laughter.

  • Certainty is a drug that makes us feel safe but has many unforeseen side effects.

  • My sons are amazing human beings.
